While living in Connecticut, I was a volunteer fundraiser for St Jude Children’s Research Hospital. After moving to Vero Beach I met Nancy Heinrich, M.P.H. founder of Growing Healthy Kids a 501(c)(3) organization created to bring innovative garden-based education to children and their families as a means of halting and reversing the childhood obesity epidemic. I assisted Nancy at several ‘salad parties’ at Vero Beach Elementary School. I was honored to participate in a Fusion of Fashion and Fun held at the Windsor Beach Club. The Petrillo Collection was debuted at the show and the jewelry line designed exclusively for Growing Healthy Kids was introduced. A portion of the sales of this line is donated to Growing Healthy Kids.
